Ukulele Charity Raffle #3

Hello again lovely uke people,

Here we go again with another uke charity raffle but this time it is even BIGGER and BETTER. So far, with your help we have assisted the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Red Cross Save a Mate program. This time the beneficiary of all the proceeds will be Parkinson’s Western Australia. I was approached by the very talented and generous Penny Hudson and Max Ball of Purist Gallery who wanted to contribute some of their wonderful art and jewellery to prize the pool for this raffle. So….. now there are three prizes:

FIRST PRIZE         A TASMANIAN BLACKWOOD SUPER SOPRANO UKULELE

as made by me – Paul Henneberry. It is highly figured Tasmanian blackwood, has an extra-long neck with 14 frets to the body, a mulga fretboard and bridge, celluloid tortoise bindings, gold frets and tuners, worth brown strings, a high gloss lacquer finish and comes with a quality hard case. It looks beautiful, sounds sweet with a nice sustain and middle.

SECOND PRIZE

A STERLING SILVER LOCKET with semi precious gem   “Love Sphere”

by award winning jeweller and sculptor Max Ball. “Love Sphere is a gift to me from a timeless place. A happy synchronicity of shape, size, weight, feel and look which finds favour almost universally. It opens up to allow choices and changes to take place. I feel less responsible for its design and more a conduit for its journey into physical form. It is loveable and good and my baby” Max Ball

A FRAMED ORIGINAL ARTWORK   “To the Beach”   (40 x 30cm)

By career artist and fellow ukulele player Penny Hudson. A joyful coastal representation by the nationally and internationally collected artist. ”My morning ritual. A walk on the beach never fails to inspire. What more could one want in life”

I’m a semi regular at the Rabble (Friday arvo’s at the North Freo Bowls Club) where you can see and play the uke and buy a ticket. I will try and get to Sullivan Hall and some of the other uke clubs in the next few weeks. If you’d like to purchase some tickets but don’t get out much, email me and we will sort something out. The draw will be at the Rabble on Friday 2nd of September and the winners notified and delivery organised.

All of the ticket money will go to Parkinson’s Western Australia , who provide a Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist Service; Support Networks for people with Parkinson’s and their family carers; and educational resources and training.
